Monthly 24hr Prayer Meetings Produces God Results.

Christian Churches in Brent gather on the 3rd Friday of every month for 24 hours of prayer for Brent and Borough of Brent in LondonLondon. Participating churches are testifying of the good changes they are seeing in their congregations and the community.
Some Comments:
Pastor B: “The 24hr prayer has released something fresh in our centre. People come in freely to drink from this freshness. We now run a youth club, free lunch club, a mothers and toddle and English as second language course. There are more projects in the pipeline. We are making some good friends and building trust in Stonebridge.”

Pastor IB: “We have seen our congregation grow in number. Not only have our members come to love prayer, we have seen people just walk into our sanctuary wanting to know more about Jesus. Prayer works. The spiritual atmosphere in our area has changed. The response to our community barbecue & concert was overwhelming. The community turned up in their numbers. We are loving this and will not stop praying for our community.”

Pastor L: “People walk in here, receive healing through prayer and go to tell their friends. Someone walked in the other day and said: ‘I hear there is a healer here’. ‘Of course there is’ was my reply. Jesus is the healer and He never fails. Thanks to the 24hour prayer. Not only do we preach the Gospel, we demonstrate it.

Youth Ministers Join Forces To Bring God’s Goodness

After a series of exploratory and planning meetings, several youth ministers from churches in the Stonebridge, Harlesden and Willesden areas decided to pull their resources together to launch youth projects in the community. In the late 90s, this area was known as the murder capital of Europe. The church has been key in throwing this reputation overboard. The Christian churches have more youth clubs than any other group including the Council. This plan to work together is bound to unleash the great force of goodness and hope on our community. Watch this space for more.

Church Service In Paradise

Paradise Wild Life ParkThe Junior Church in Joy House is catching on with church outside the 4 walls. Sunday 20th July – Anointed Youth and Power Kids decide to have their service at Paradise Wildlife Safari Park in Hertfordshire (1.5 hours by coach). They have their Praise & Worship, Prayers and Word amongst the lions, tigers exotic birds etc. They come back so full of praise and awe at the mighty hand of God. They testify of the favour of God on them for the day, the friends they made and miracles of healing. A painful ear pops open after prayer; an ear infection is healed after prayer. ‘T’ (10) joyfully demonstrates how he could run, jump and play perfectly in spite of the fact that a specialist doctor had said he would not walk properly again after a serious accident.

God’s Miraculous Hand at Work

hand of God in a cloud• P is overwhelmed with despair as she receives information that her elderly father is seriously ill in Zambia and may not survive. She had not seen her father for some years and was desperate to see him. However she had difficulty travelling out of the U.K. as her application for regularisation of stay was still with the Home Office. Things were made worse when the Home Office refused her application. The Church offered prayer and encouragement. Well, God showed up. She appealed against the Home Office decision and won. Her Dad did not die but made a remarkable recovery. Her Dad and Mum, out of character, made the long journey from Zambia to London to visit her. She now has her indefinite visa; her Dad fully recovered; Dad here in London. She did not need to travel. All this in the space of 6 months.

• ‘A’s high court case was so difficult that her lawyers had given her no hope. ‘A’ had quoted Mark 10:27 “that with man it may be impossible but with God, all things are possible.” You guessed right. ‘A’ won the case. The experienced barrister was deeply moved at the unusual judgement. The barrister needed a cigarette and disclosed that when she woke up that morning, she clearly heard the word UNUSUAL and did not know where it had come from. Now she knows it is about this case and that voice could have been God’s voice The solicitor could only say: “Your God is God” and asked for prayer.

• A few years ago ‘P’ had come into ownership of a large piece of Land (10 plots) in a good location in the city of Accra, Ghana. There was litigation on the land and he lost this land and had forgotten about it. He had moved on and is now living in London. A prophetic word of ‘restoration’ was released in church. ‘P’ holds on to this word but did not even think about the lost land. Well, God does not forget like man. Out of the blue, he receives a restoration letter for the land in a better location than before. The land has been restored but since the old one had been built on, he has been given a new one of much greater value in a better location in the city.

• “I wronged and abandoned my children at a desperate time in my life,” says ‘AC’. “When Jesus found and restored me, my prayer was that He would restore my family back to me. They hated me for what I did. Jesus never fails. My children are restored to me. They love me and I love them and we can’t have enough of each other. Thank you, Jesus.”

• L says: “ When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, the spirit of death shouted at me telling me I was going to die. After prayer and counselling from my pastors, I knew deep inside me that death was not my portion. Jesus has paid the price of death for my life. I started attacking this foul spirit. My doctors were amazed at my response to treatment and recovery rate. They diagnosed a failed kidney. God restored that kidney to perfection. I know without a doubt that I am completely free from cancer. I have no pain and I am very strong. I am now just waiting for an appointment with my consultant to document this miracle after all their tests. Thank you Jesus that you heal ALL diseases including cancer and kidney failure.”

Helping Hands Volunteers Get Thumbs Up

Helping hands working togtherOur volunteers are much sought after all over Brent. The usual comment about our volunteers is ‘they love what they do’. Of course they do. They are agents of God’s goodness. Apart from the work we do independently as a church, we have teamed up with Brent Mind (mental illness), Age Concern (for the elderly) and Brent Autism (help autistic families). Each week our volunteers are bringing smiles on the faces of some wonderful people who deserve it. 84 year old Mrs W says to a volunteer “I look forward to our conversation each week. They cheer me up greatly”. J, one of our volunteers, has been called the best shop window designer at the Age Concern shop in Harlesden.

Kilburn Breaking

Kilburn tube sign“Kilburn is breaking.” This is official from our street evangelists. Kilburn has been a spiritually heavy place. This simply means that the atmosphere is not relaxed and friendly. Though there is a lot of activity, there is very little to genuinely smile about. United Evangelism in Brent has risen to the task of bringing some cheer on the streets of Kilburn and Cricklewood. They have joined with churches from these areas to go on the streets. They bring the Word of God, heal the sick and bring cheer to the people. They have noticed some joy returning to beautiful Kilburn and Cricklewood. The churches in the area have committed to changing the atmosphere completely. United Evangelism is committed to working with them.
